Yankee Saves the Best for Last

“Yankee Saves the Best for Last”

Ralph “Yankee” Arnold

We are home. We went over 7,000 miles through 19 states. We had people trust the Lord as their Savior in about 12 of them. After continuously celebrating our 60 years of marriage at every stop, would you believe that Betty lost four pounds and I lost two?

Thanks to all of you who prayed for us to have a safe and fruitful vacation. We believe our blessings are the results of your prayers. Hope you enjoy my final trip newsletter.

Traveling through the mountains of North Carolina was one of the prettiest scenes we enjoyed. We were on I-40 going East toward Asheville.

This is how to stay cool when the air-conditioner goes out

Jamie and Kedron Payne found me through our YouTube Ministry several years ago. They have attended our Missions Conference for the last three years. They recently moved into their new home two weeks before we arrived.

These are two beautiful country girls (Kaylee and Amie) who have a great love for the outdoors.

Kedron invited a few friends over to help celebrate Amie’s birthday and give me a chance to hold an at home Bible study. Her friend, Elizabeth-middle, was told to sit down while I told her a story. Several years ago, I told the girls a story of how I cut off my dog’s tail when I was about 5 years old. They wanted me to tell Elizabeth that story. Look at her expression as she realized what I was going to say. No! The dog did not die.

Cody and Shelby Kuhns also found me on our YouTube Ministry (www.youtube.com/user/biblelinebroadcast). Would you believe that they drive three and a half hours every week to attend Northside Baptist Church in Athens, Georgia because they cannot find a preacher that does not compromise?

It’s all because of the poisonous teaching of Calvinism. They could not find a church that was clear on the gospel and willing to proclaim it boldly. All five points of Calvinism affect the gospel and are wrong. A preacher that teaches you must turn from sin to be saved is telling people to stop being bad. A preacher that tells people to commit their life to Christ to be saved is telling people to start being good. Both are works for salvation and causes much confusion when God says it is FREE and ETERNAL. No one knows for sure if they are going to Heaven when they die unless they believe in Eternal Security. All fruit inspectors who determine their own salvation or that of others by the way a person lives, must conclude that (if they are honest) that no one is saved. Salvation must only be determined by WHO you are trusting. It has blessed me immensely to meet these great believers. What an encouragement!

Both of my new friends met Betty and I for breakfast at Denny’s in Asheville. What a wonderful time of fellowship.

Didn’t you hate it when Mama use to put all the icing on the cake without giving you the chance of licking the bowl?

This is my 36-year-old grandson, Michael Mech. He has a good job and makes good money; perhaps he will help take care of his Papa in his old age. He even looks like me a little. Don’t you think?

My son, Eddie, takes a selfie with our two grand-kids (Jordan and Abby).

My grandson, Jordan, led the singing like his granddaddy use to do back in the old days. I was immensely proud of him as he intertwined the gospel with the music. His dad, Eddie, was standing on the left. This was only their second meeting. They had about 60 on this Wednesday night and served free pizza. Adults can't meet for church, but the teenagers can. This was north of Athens, Georgia.

Love to hear from you.
