LET THE DEAD BURY THE DEAD

LET THE DEAD BURY THE DEAD
Pastor Ralph “Yankee” Arnold
(Luk 9:1-6)  Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.
SERVICE IS A CHOICE
(Luk 9:23-27)  And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
SOME HAD A BAD CASE OF ME FIRSTITUS
(Luk 9:57)  And it came to pass, that, as they went in the way, a certain man said unto him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.
(Luk 9:58)  And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.
(Luk 9:59)  And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.
(Luk 9:60)  Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.
(Luk 9:61)  And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house.
(Luk 9:62)  And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. A decision to serve the Lord is seen by God as an irrevocable decision, but any man who refuses to prepare is not fit to serve.
A GOOD SOLDIER TRAINS MORE SOLDIERS
(2Ti 2:1-4)  Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
(2Ti 2:15)  Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
(2Ti 2:21)  If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet (FIT) for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.
SERVICE TO THE LORD FOR THE SAKE OF THE GOSPEL
IS AN IRRIVOCABLE TRUST

(1Th 2:4)  But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.
(1Co 9:16)  For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!
(1Co 9:19)  For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more.
ASK          (Mat 7:7)  Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
SEEK         (Mat 7:8)  For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth;
KNOCK         and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

(Rom 12:1)  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
(Rom 12:2)  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing
of your mind, that ye may prove what is that
GOOD                   good, and
ACCEPTABLE     acceptable, and
PERFECT             perfect, will of God.
¶ I beseech you therefore, brethren, THAT YOU MIGHT WIN SOULS by the mercies of God, THAT YOU MIGHT WIN SOULS that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, THAT YOU MIGHT WIN SOULS holy, THAT YOU MIGHT WIN SOULS acceptable unto God, THAT YOU MIGHT WIN SOULS which is your reasonable service. THAT YOU MIGHT WIN SOULS

2 And be not conformed to this world: THAT YOU MIGHT WIN SOULS but be ye transformed THAT YOU MIGHT WIN SOULS by the renewing of your mind, THAT YOU MIGHT WIN SOULS that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God THAT YOU MIGHT WIN SOULS.
THE MAN IN THE GAP
(Eph 5:14)  Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
(Eph 5:15)  See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
(Eph 5:16)  Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
(Eph 5:17)  Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
As we meditate upon the Lord’s sacrifice for our sins which provided us our free salvation, do you consider the sacrifice he ask is too great to serve him?
(2Co 5:14)  For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:
(2Co 5:15)  And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
