Autumn Rose Barker’s Testimony
I was working on my Associate’s Degree in the science of Occupational Therapy
Assisting in the spring of 2014, when I first heard about Florida Bible College
of Tampa from a former student, Kyla Martinez. I had been saved some eight
years, and I had dedicated my life, in 2012.
But I was always searching for more, always wanting to grow deeper in
God’s word, and be more yielded to His will. I toured the FBC Tampa campus and dorm
facility in April of 2014, and I knew that FBCT was for me.

Over the last seven months God has
been working on me, here at Florida Bible College of Tampa. He’s changed me
into a soul winner! Before attending FBCT I never told anyone they could know
for sure they were going to Heaven. Here, I’ve learned how to give a clear
gospel message, and I have, so far, lead sixty-four people to Christ! That number includes one close friend, and a
family member. I’m not saying this to say how great I am, or how great this
college is; God gets the glory and honor. Sixty-four people aren’t on their way
to eternal damnation; and if it hadn’t been for the clear gospel teachings here
those sixty-four people might still be on their way to hell.
When we work for the Lord, the
devil tries to destroy the work. I’ve seen examples of that many times, while
here. It isn’t always easy being the only full time girl student. But I know
that this is what God wants me to do. Mr.
Bob Gilbert has a great quote of encouragement that he always shares with us:
“First the testings, then the blessings.” And it is so true! The will of God
will never take us where the grace of God won’t protect us.
My two favorite ministries here are
the Youth Ranch, and Friday night soul winning. Getting to fellowship with these
teenagers and being able to teach them what God’s Word says has been one of my
biggest blessings. It’s so awesome to watch them grow in their walk with the
Lord, and really apply God’s Word to their lives. Friday night soul winning
just really pumps me up, to go out and tell people about how they can know
where they are going when they die, while teaching the ranch kids how to apply
what we teach them to everyday life. It’s so awesome to watch these kids really
get on fire for the Lord.
